As a wedding filmmaker, I find myself drawn to the charm of Canberra's wedding scene. The journey down and the local cafes always add a touch of excitement to my work. This time, I had the pleasure of capturing Zach and Sophie's special day at The Marion, a venue that's quickly becoming one of my favorites in the area.

Our day began with a stroll through Canberra, exploring the city and its hidden gems. We made a special stop at Sophie's workplace, where the beautiful garden in front of her office provided a unique and personal setting for some memorable shots. As we moved through the day, our focus remained on documenting genuine moments between Zach and Sophie, their families, and friends. From the intimate exchanges during preparations to the joyous celebrations at the reception, we aimed to blend in and capture the essence of their day without intruding on the natural flow of events.

The Marion, overlooking the spectacular Lake Burley Griffin, provided a modern yet elegant backdrop for Zach and Sophie's celebration. With its premium dining experience and chic interior, it's easy to see why this venue is making waves in Canberra's wedding scene.

Working alongside my best friend Reece from The Sidewalk Artist always brings an extra layer of enjoyment to the shoot. Our shared approach involves taking couples to their photoshoot location, but also sneaking them out for sunset shots. This strategy allows for the best footage while ensuring the couple can fully enjoy their day with guests.

A successful wedding day is always a team effort. Jacklyne Leign worked her magic with makeup, while Jess Fort of Zabelle Hair created stunning hairstyles. Wolf & Vine took care of coordination and styling, ensuring every detail was perfect–from the aesthetic of the floral arrangements to the amazing formation of champagne tower.
